Mango

Mangoes are a great addition to your juicing diet and as they are available all year round there’s no excuse not to use them in your daily juicing regime, they’re becoming cheaper too especially in the summer months so it’s no big deal to swap out some of your other fruits so you can benefit from this fragrant and tasty fruit

Mango History

Mangoes are native to northeast India, northwestern Myanmar and Bangladesh. They later spread to the rest of Asia by themselves and with the help of humans.

The mango can be traced back in the fossil records up to 30 million years, although those early fruits aren’t the same as the mangoes you can buy from the supermarket these days, many centuries of development has produced the fruits we know and enjoy today. The modern Mango tree can grow up to a massive 130 feet tall and produce fruits for around 300 years,  with worldwide production exceeding 17 million metric tons a year they’ve never been more popular.

Mango Nutrition

Mango is an incredibly nutritious fruit and an important source of vitamins and minerals, such as Vitamin A, Vitamin C, folate, and magnesium.

Mangoes are packed with essential vitamins and minerals that can help promote overall health. They are high in carotenoids – powerful antioxidants that may help protect against vision problems. They are also rich in polyphenols which have anti-inflammatory properties; this means consumption can help reduce inflammation in the body which can be beneficial for people with rheumatoid arthritis or other inflammatory conditions.

Mangoes contain prebiotic fiber which helps promote healthy digestion, as well as potassium which is important for maintaining normal blood pressure and protecting cardiovascular functions.

Not only does mango provide numerous health benefits but it’s also delicious! Fresh or dried mango can be enjoyed on its own as a snack or included in salads or smoothies; it’s even possible to create savory dishes with fruit like curries or sauces.
Mango can add both sweetness and nutrition to any meal so if you’re looking for something new to try – give it a shot!

Mango Benefits

Mangoes are filled with antioxidants, Vitamin C, fiber, and all manner of healthy nutrients. All of that, in combination, will help your body in the following ways

-Clear up your skin thanks to Vitamin A

-Lower cholesterol levels

-Prevent certain kinds of cancer like breast, prostate, and colon

-Prevent dry eyes and increase night vision

-Create enzymes that aid digestion

-Enhance your immune system

-Stabilize insulin levels if you eat the leaves

Mango Juice

Why?

Mangoes aren’t something that you probably eat on a regular basis. If you really want the benefits, though, you need to add more to your diet. A lot of people aren’t up to adding more fruits to their diet but if you can get into the habit of juicing every day,  this is a quick and easy way to do it.

Tips For Juicing

-Always make sure that you wash your mangoes properly. No need to involve bacteria in your healthy juicing habit.

-Peel your mangoes with a potato peeler and then rinse the peeled fruit under running water,  pesticide residues can build up in the skin and you don’t want to add that back into your juice after you’ve gone to all the trouble of peeling the fruit

– As Mango flesh is quite soft, alternate the pieces of mango with other harder fruits and vegetables to help push the mango flesh through the juicer.

-It sounds obvious I know….. But there is a large stone in the middle of the mango and you shouldn’t put the whole thing into your juicer without removing the stone.

-Drink the juice immediately if you want the most healthy bang for your buck

-Always buy organic produce if it’s available and always check that the fruits you are buying are ripe and in good condition, how many times have you been into the supermarket and just picked up any old fruit to find that it’s no good when you get it home?

What Should You Mix Mangoes With?

Mangoes are similar to oranges in that they can go great with a huge number of other fruits and vegetables. You can find specific recipes on this site but for now, here are some ideas to get you started.

-Spinach

-Cucumbers

-Apple

-Carrots
